Skype Lesson Reference Letters
Reference Letter from an Adult Student
Marilyn has been my piano teacher for almost five years. I had piano lessons many years ago in elementary and high school, then went out to the working world and set the piano off to the side not to touch it again until I retired. So I began again in 2013 with Marilyn.
After approximately one and a half years Marilyn informed me that she was moving away, and my heart just about broke, thinking I’ll have to start over with another teacher and learn new and different methods (which isn’t a bad thing, but who wants to go through that?) But that didn’t happen because Marilyn offered to teach me thru Skype. At first I thought, oh, this will never work. I was really hesitant because I thought how can this be done. She (Marilyn) won’t be physically by my side to see if I’m actually playing correctly. Also, I was hesitant about my use of the computer and if I would be able to actually connect.
Well, to my surprise, I have been taking lessons with Marilyn via Skype for three and a half years now and it has worked out beautifully.
All the concern about whether it could be done were answered when I took that leap and tried lessons thru Skype. Didn’t have to look for another teacher, boy was I happy about that! Didn’t have to make all kinds of adjustments about methods, and easily connected.
So, I would say, anyone considering using Skype to take lessons should go ahead and take that leap. You’ll be glad you did!
Sincerely,
Jeanette M.
